It relieves subjective discomforts such as: lack of appetite, sensation of pressure in the right epigastric area due to liver injury caused by unhealthy diet, toxic substance effects or hepatitis.1 Essentially, there are no limitations on the duration of use of Phospholipids (Essentiale Forte P), but the recommended duration of treatment should be at least 1-3 months.1

If I take more capsules, will the medicine work better or faster?

No, it will not. You should always take this medicine exactly as instructed in the leaflet and on the pack. The recommended daily dose of the medicine is 1800 mg. 1

What side effects may I notice from this medicine?

As any other medicine, Phospholipids (Essentiale Forte P) may cause adverse drug reactions. An allergic reaction may occur, such as erythema, rash, urticaria, itching; gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, loose stools, diarrhea or abdominal discomfort (the frequency of these adverse drug reactions is unknown, cannot be estimated from the available data).

exerts a hepatoprotective effect in acute liver injury caused by alcohol, acetaminophen etc.
inhibition of liver fibrosis was also observed.

The basic action of phospholipids is acceleration of regeneration and stabilisation of cell membranes, inhibition of lipid peroxidation and inhibition of collagen synthesis, which prevents liver fibrosis.¹
