Frequently asked questions
Since alcohol can has negative effects on the liver, we do not recommend you take Essentiale® with alcohol or drink alcohol if you are looking to improve your liver health.
It's best to take Essentiale® with meals and taken with a glass of water.
Great question! Phospholipids are indispensible molecules in the human body that contribute to the structure, function, and regulation of cells and tissues. One well-known phospholipid is phosphatidylcholine, a major component of cell membranes found in dietary sources such as eggs, soybeans, and sunflower seeds. A special type of phosphatidylcholine that is enriched with essential fatty acids is the key ingredient in Essentiale®.
You can take Essentiale® for as long as you’d like, but we recommend taking Essentiale® for a minimum of one to three months. This should be adjusted based on the local patient information leaflet on a country by country basis. If you notice issues with your liver (such as fatty liver), or if you're living a lifestyle where your liver may be under stress, Essentiale® may be beneficial for you. For liver diseases, Essentiale® Forte P is recommended. Consider taking it if you experience a lack of appetite, a sense of pressure in the right side of the epigastric area due to liver damage from an unhealthy diet, or effects from toxic substances or hepatitis. Remember, it’s crucial to also make positive lifestyle changes, such as reducing alcohol consumption, as Essentiale® is not a substitute for avoiding substances that can harm your liver.
Great question! You might want to consider Essentiale® if you have symptoms related to liver issues or fat accumulated in the liver, you have issues with liver function, you lead a busy life with little to no sleep, you drink alcohol frequently, or you are a smoker, chronic drug user, or follow an unbalanced diet.
